Join the Munnings Art Museum Volunteers
The Munnings Art Museum is really proud of our wonderful team of committed volunteers who are involved in a range of front of house roles as well as behind the scenes.
Why volunteer with us?
If you are looking for a new interest or experience in a beautiful and fascintating setting then our roles are made to fit. You do not need specialist knowledge of art history or experience of working in museums or galleries to join the team as we provide training and support and you’ll begin by shadowing another member of the team.
We do ask that volunteer stewards commit to two afternoons per month if at all possible but you can do as much or as little as you can.
What do Munnings Art Museum Volunteers do?
The majority of our volunteers belong to our cohort of stewards. They deliver an inspiring and informative visit to the Munnings Art Museum for guests from all around the globe, bringing Sir Alfred’s paintings and former home to life. There are opportunities to provide orientation, process admissions and sell our unique gifts in the shop. There are other opportunities to support events, guided tours and private views or hires.
A number of volunteers work in the archive, cataloguing, researching and curating the the collections. The number of these opportunities each year is very small and currently we cannot provide short work experience opportunities for those still at school (under 18).
If you are interested in applying for a volunteering role then please register your interest by filling in the application form below.
