You can reach the museum by exiting the A12 at Junction 30. Then take the B1029 into the village of Dedham. Turn left at the T junction in the village centre (Royal Square) and stay on Brook Street merging into Crown Street for 1 mile.
The museum is painted bright yellow and is on the left hand side as Crown Street turns into Castle Hill. Turn left as you reach the museum, into East Lane, for the main car and coach park.
There are disabled parking spaces in the main car park for easier access to the cafe in the garden.
Parking is also available through the white gates at the front of the museum on the corner of East Lane and Castle Hill for a shorter walk to the museum front door.
There is a regular service from Colchester (via the Station) to Dedham. For information on bus services please see the First Bus Journey Planner website.
Trains arrive at the main line stations of Colchester (8 miles), Manningtree (4 miles) and Ipswich (11 miles) where taxis can transport you to Dedham.
